Week 33
I loved the support we get from the members in our ward. This last week we had two lessons cancel and a member was accompanying us to both. But it turned out to be great because we walked her home and she talked about how she wants to go out and find people with us. She also referred someone that was receiving lessons years ago. And when we called this person they said we were an answer to their prayers. Really we are so grateful that this member is following her prompting to help in the obra del Señor.
We are doing lots of contacting in the streets because now we can! And so we are improving each day. This past week we saw a few miracles as we contacted a member who lost contact with the church after moving countries. Then after trying to do a return visit that we couldn't do, we were near a park we aren't usually near at this hour and we met a cute girl and her dog! Our last miracle was yesterday as we were walking. We walked past someone and we both knew we needed to turn around and go talk to him. We gave him a pamphlet and then asked if he wanted to learn more about Christ. He said yes! Our interaction was super simple but that's really what we want to share with people. We want to teach about Christ.
We also had a very sweet lesson where we watched the 20 minute Joseph Smith restoration movie and afterward she understood it all haha and even came with us to a baptism. Sadly she is moving soon but she is great and will learn from us until she goes.
4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
5 Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God? (1 John 5:4-5)
Just as Christ overcame the world, we need to as well. And I know it's not easy especially because Christ ultimately gave His life to overcome the world. Luckily, He gave His life so we don't have to suffer as He did for us. That's why I loved reading the words to the hymn While of These Emblems We Partake.
I love the translation for Spanish! This is how we can overcome the world!!
"La Santa Cena, al tomar, a Cristo quiero recordar, mostrándole de corazón que limpio soy por Su perdón."
Haha and oh ya we had exchanges this week and a member gave us some mangos. First, if someone knows how to cut a mango really well, let me know. But after eating the mango our lips were buzzing. Luckily, in the morning everything was fine, but really is that normal?
Mucho amor,
Hermana Warburton
