March 7, 2022 - Es duro

 Week 28

What a week! Jaja what a day. Saturday morning started out normal. I was getting ready like normal when my companion hna pope yelled to me "hna there's a problem with the phone." When I finished getting ready I came to look at the phone, and yes there was a problem. It was basically like our screen had stopped working. We could get a sidebar to pull up, but it did nothing, so it was like we had no phone. Well this same day in about half an hour we were supposed to be in the church about 15 minutes away because Elder Taylor, a member of the seventy, was coming to visit our mission. The most important thing was that we got to that meeting, so we ran to our neighbors who we only know because we've given them cookies twice, and they asked for an uber for us. We had one minute to leave so we quickly grabbed our things and ran out the door, leaving my mini wheats on the table.

We made it to the conference and I AM SO HAPPY WE DID! It was so great and I got so many answers about how I can improve as a missionary. It was also a mission wide conference so everyone was there. It was so fun! Well luckily the rest of the day we also had a stake conference in the same church so we didn't need a phone. We learned that our phone could receive calls so after the conference some really nice ward members took us home and the zone leaders promised they would be calling us in the morning to get another uber for us because we couldn't contact anyone and we still had another meeting for stake conference.

Well Sunday after many ubers requested by other people and hours of study and many things falling through because we couldn't control our travels or confirm anything we got a new phone for the moment. Sadly we are still missing many contacts and things, but at least we can contact people.

We learned so much about how valuable technology is in the mission now. Literally without our phone we could do nothing.

We also had a great lesson this past week with the joven we are teaching and a member. Sadly, we've had a few people we are teaching say that they have to focus on work. But the bright side is that they are still reading the book of Mormon!

I loved the thought from our conference about teaching in the savior's way. As we teach as he taught, as we teach what he taught, His image will become ingrained in us. We will be him and he will be us. How great is it to have the master teaching helping us out!
