Week 31
On Tuesday we found a golden Didi! We talked to them in the didi and got their number and then messaged them later that day and they said they wanted a lesson that night. This is not common! Sadly, they live in another area, but the sisters in that area are great as well!
As we taught a family this past week we shared the prodigal son parable and I learned even more the importance of simplicity in lessons. At the end of the story a little girl in the family didn't understand what happened. So I told the story again but with her as the older sister. And in the end she learned that sometimes we may be far from God, but we're really not that far! How sweet is that! We also heard a story about the conversion of an 8 year old who had the option to be baptized in the Catholic church and two days before that baptism said that he wanted to be baptized into the right church, the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The faith of the youth and primary children is so strong and so touching!
This past week we followed the counsel of our wise leaders in the district as well as zone: Tener fe de dejar de enseñar y you can go around asking people if they know of a member who lives nearby, and this member doesn't even really need to exist. Through these efforts we have been able to find those that are more ready to hear our special message as well as find new people to teach! We went around looking for Ashly Gutierrez who happens to be the daughter of the Bishop and we had miracles happen as we found many people who wanted to hear more about our message. We found two cute girls who we taught that they themselves are princesses of a Heavenly King. We left our number with them and later that night their mom called us wanting to learn more. It was awesome!
Doctrina y Convenios 58:42-43
43 Por esto podréis saber si un hombre se arrepiente de sus pecados: He aquí, los confesará y los abandonará.
42 He aquí, quien se ha arrepentido de sus pecados es perdonado; y yo, el Señor, no los recuerdo más.
Just a few thoughts about this great scripture: if we have truly repented (confessed and abandoned our sins) how could He, our Father, not forgive us as we do as He has asked with a sincere and wanting heart. This verse says that el Señor won't remember them any more, but we will, and I know there is great purpose in that. We remember so that we won't forget and so that we won't want to return to it. And lastly, like the little girl said in our lesson, sometimes we may feel far away, but our Father is never far away.
Mucho amor,
Hermana Warburton ❤
